About Heritage Gardens

Heritage Gardens Of Cold Spring is located 3,000 feet above sea level in the foothills of the Blue Mountains below Catherine’s Peak, and in the buffer zone of the UNESCO World Heritage site – Blue and John Crow Mountains . Due to this altitude the property enjoys cool weather, seasonal mists, lush plant growth, and breathtaking views.

Located just below the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Training Camp at Newcastle, Heritage Gardens is easily accessible by main road, only forty-five minutes from Papine through Irish Town, and Redlight to Cold Spring.

A visit to The Heritage Gardens will take you back to coffee works of the 18th century, as well as remind you of the wonderfully diverse and beautiful offerings of the small island of Jamaica.

The charmingly landscaped Gardens today contain remnants of the coffee works of the 18th century Cold Spring Estate: well-preserved large barbecues (flat drying areas), floating ponds, water channels, and remnants of the pulping house – all reminiscent of large volumes of Blue Mountain coffee once pulped and dried on these grounds. The Gardens are being restored to reflect the beauty reported in the historical accounts of the time.

A simple, cozy, three-bedroom cottage is available for rental , and the grounds provide the perfect setting for wandering, meditation, retreats, writing, cultural events, weddings, picnics, and fun!!
