Heritage Gardens at Cold Spring is located in the foothills of the Blue Mountains below Catherine’s Peak, approximately 3,000 feet above sea level. Enjoy breathtaking views and due to this altitude the property enjoys cool weather, seasonal mists and lush plant growth. Located just below the Newcastle Jamaica Defence Force Training Camp it is easily accessible by main road, only forty-five minutes from Papine through Irish Town. As part of an old Blue Mountain Coffee Estate, The Heritage Gardens contains ruins of the coffee works which include well preserved barbecues, floating ponds, channels and remnants of the pulping house. The charmingly landscaped areas are ideal for outdoor events. A
visit to The Heritage Gardens will take you back to coffee works of
the 18th century, as well as remind you of the wonderfully diverse and
beautiful offerings of the small island of Jamaica. The Gardens today
contain remnants of the coffee works of the 18th century Cold Spring
Estate: well-preserved large barbecues (flat drying areas), floating
ponds, water channels, and remnants of the pulping house - all reminiscent
of large volumes of Blue Mountain coffee once pulped and dried on these
grounds. The Gardens are being restored to reflect the beauty reported
in the historical accounts of the time. Home
